Trinity River Audubon Center in the Great Trinity Forest

The Trinity River Audubon Center opened in 2008 and is located within the Great Trinity Forest on Dallas's southeast side. Operated by Audubon Texas, the center provides nature trails, birding programs, and habitat-restoration efforts in what is often described as the largest urban hardwood forest in the United States. Because it sits deep in the floodplain forest along the Trinity River, the facility and its trails are relatively remote compared with central Dallas attractions.
