Old Stone House in Georgetown

The Old Stone House, at 3051 M Street NW, was built in 1765 and is the oldest unchanged building standing in Washington, D.C. Constructed of locally quarried stone, the house has survived the city's later development and is preserved as a historic house museum. It is owned and operated by the National Park Service and is documented in local preservation records. The building's original stone walls and 18th-century construction materials are the basis of its historical significance.
