Sackett Hotel

The Sackett Hotel, established in 1888, was the first hotel in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California. Built by Horace and Ellen Sackett, it featured a three-story wooden structure with a mansard roof, a lobby, and eighteen guest rooms. Notably, it also housed the area's first post office run by the Sackett's daughter. Despite its historical significance, the hotel closed in 1905 due to competition from the Hollywood Hotel and was eventually demolished in 1910 to make way for the Creque Building. Today, the site is a part of Hollywood's rich history, reflecting the early development of this iconic neighborhood.
