Empire House

Empire House is a historic former office building located in Butetown, Cardiff, Wales, completed in 1926 and designed by renowned architects Ivor Jones and Percy Thomas. Recognized as the best example of inter-war Neo-Georgian architecture in South Wales, it is a Grade II* listed building. Originally serving as the headquarters for a major coal exporting company, the building has undergone significant transformation, including a conversion into luxury apartments in the early 21st century. Visitors can appreciate its striking red brick façade and preserved period features, such as a unique Louis Quinze lift, while enjoying its prominent position opposite the Cardiff Coal Exchange.
