The Clarkson House, built in 1818, is a historic building in Lewiston, New York, notable for being one of the first constructed after the War of 1812. Originally built by Jacob Townsend, it has served as a beloved restaurant since 1958, first established by Robert and Marilyn Clarkson. Known for its intimate steak and lobster offerings, the Clarkson House became a popular destination for travelers. After the Clarksons retired in 1995, the restaurant changed hands several times, including a rebranding to Macri's Italian Grille and later to the Griffon House in 2017, continuing its legacy as a dining spot in the area.
