Gabriel Dumont Institute

The Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the educational and cultural needs of the Saskatchewan Métis and Non-Status Indian community. Established in 1980, GDI offers accredited educational and vocational training in partnership with local universities and colleges. With campuses in Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert, the institute promotes Métis culture through various programs, including the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program and the Gabriel Dumont College. The GDI also houses a museum and archives that preserve Métis history and culture, making it a significant destination for tourists and researchers interested in Indigenous education and heritage.
