Schunk Lodge

Schunk Lodge is a historic log cabin nestled in the scenic Bighorn Mountains of the United States. Originally serving as a mail stage stop and later a dude ranch, it became a mountain retreat for conservationist Will Schunk, who played a key role in establishing the nearby Cloud Peak Wilderness. The lodge, recognized for its historical significance, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 4, 2018. It has also served as a meeting venue for The Wilderness Society, notably during the 1957 election of attorney Harvey Broome as their president, making it a site of both natural beauty and environmental history.
