Stearns Tavern

Stearns Tavern is a historic building located in Worcester, Massachusetts, known for its exceptional vernacular Federal style architecture. Constructed around 1812, it features a distinctive six-panel front door with sidelights and a fanlight. Originally situated at 1030 Main Street, the tavern was relocated in 1974 to 651 Park Avenue, where it was restored and adapted for use as a bank. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, but was removed in 2023 after its latest move to 140 Mill Street. This site offers a glimpse into early American architecture and the history of the region, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
