The Bluebird Cafe opened in 1982 in the Green Hills neighborhood and is a small listening room famed for its songwriter-in-the-round format and intimate performances. The venue seats roughly 90 people and has been credited with helping launch the careers of several country and singer-songwriter artists. It has also been featured in national media, including the television series 'Nashville'.
