San Francisco Armory (historic National Guard armory)

The San Francisco Armory at 1800 Mission Street is an early-20th-century castellated brick armory built for the California National Guard and is a prominent Mission District landmark. Its fortress-like exterior and large drill hall reflect its original military function and distinctive civic-architecture presence. In later decades the building has been repurposed for various private and cultural uses while retaining its historic exterior character.
