City Tavern (reconstructed)

The original City Tavern opened in 1773 and was a prominent 18th-century meeting place frequented by colonial leaders and delegates to the Continental Congress. A reconstructed City Tavern now stands at the historic site and operates as a restaurant and museum interpreting colonial dining and social life. The site is associated with Philadelphia's Revolutionary-era civic and social history.
