Texas State Capitol

The Texas State Capitol, completed in 1888, is constructed from distinctive 'sunset red' Texas granite and houses the offices of the governor and the Texas Legislature. The building is taller than the U.S. Capitol and occupies a full city block on Congress Avenue. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers public tours and historical exhibits.
