Early Learning Centre (building)

The Early Learning Centre, designed by Teeple Architects in 2003, serves as a vibrant educational space for children of University of Toronto faculty and students. Featuring large open areas, ample natural light, and a unique multi-level design, the building encourages interaction among children and with the outdoors. Central to its design is a ramp that facilitates movement, complemented by lightwells that enhance brightness. The structure is thoughtfully integrated with its surroundings, showcasing a linear profile with Gavalume panels and light green-tinted glass. A notable feature is a large walnut tree located at the back, symbolizing the connection to nature. This innovative building successfully balances playful design with a modest scale, making it an intriguing destination for visitors and researchers alike.
