South by Southwest (SXSW) - festival born in Austin

SXSW began in Austin in 1987 and has grown into an annual conglomeration of music, film, and interactive media festivals and conferences that attract thousands of participants worldwide. The Austin Convention Center serves as a primary venue and central hub for many SXSW sessions, screenings, and exhibitions each March. SXSW is credited with helping launch artists' careers and fostering tech and creative-industry networking in Austin.
