St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery

The current St. Mark's Church building was completed in 1799 on land that had been part of the Stuyvesant family farm (the 'bowery'). The churchyard contains the Stuyvesant family burial plot and other early New York burials, making the site important for colonial and early-Republic history. St. Mark's is one of Manhattan's oldest churches still in use and is a designated New York City landmark.
