Reception Building

The Reception Building, originally known as the Reception Saloon, is a historic site located in Cordova, Alaska. Built in 1908, this two-story wood-frame structure is one of the few remaining buildings from the city's early development. It was established by Owen Webster 'Link' Wain, a key figure in Alaska's economic growth during the early 20th century, and served as a social hub until its closure due to Prohibition in 1918. Although it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, it was delisted in 2019, making it a notable point of interest for tourists and researchers exploring Alaska's frontier history.
