Prince Hall Masonic Temple (Manhattan)

The Prince Hall Masonic Temple, located in Harlem, Manhattan, is a historic site for Prince Hall Freemasons, established between 1924 and 1925. Initially serving the William McKinley Lodge No. 840, the temple faced challenges during the Great Depression, leading to its repossession in 1933. After a brief period of use by the Savage School for Physical Education, which later became part of New York University, the building returned to Masonic functions in 1944, becoming the state headquarters for the African American Prince Hall Freemasonry.
