Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum - 1990 art theft

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum was built to resemble a 15th-century Venetian palace and houses the private collection assembled by Isabella Stewart Gardner. On March 18, 1990, 13 works of art were stolen from the museum in what remains the largest unsolved art theft in U.S. history. Missing works include Rembrandt's The Storm on the Sea of Galilee and Vermeer's The Concert; the museum continues to offer a $10 million reward for information leading to their recovery.
