Houston Zoo in Hermann Park

The Houston Zoo, founded in 1922 and located in Hermann Park, houses over 6,000 animals representing more than 900 species and is among the most-visited zoos in the United States. The institution runs conservation, research, and education programs and participates in international species survival efforts. Notable permanent areas include the African Forest, Kipp Aquarium, and the McNair Asian Elephant Habitat.
