Jefferson County Courthouse (Kansas)

The Jefferson County Courthouse, situated in Oskaloosa, Kansas, serves as the county's government seat since 1855. Constructed between 1963 and 1964 in a Modern architectural style by Kiene & Bradley Architects, the building features a striking red brick and concrete design with a flat roof and a prominent faceless clock. The courthouse is set on beautifully landscaped grounds in the heart of the city. Notably, the original courthouse built in 1868 was destroyed by a tornado in 1960, leading to the construction of the current structure. This courthouse is part of a legacy of designs by Kiene & Bradley, who have also contributed to several other county courthouses across Kansas.
