Manitoba House

Manitoba House is a historic Hudson's Bay Company fur trading post located in the Rural Municipality of Alonsa, Manitoba. Established in the 1820s, it served a vast area between Riding Mountain and Lake Winnipeg. The site is notable for the signing of Treaty 2 on August 21, 1871. Adjacent to the trading post is the Kinosota settlement, originally known as Manitoba House Settlement, which features long narrow lots along Lake Manitoba's shore. Visitors can explore St. Bede's Anglican Church, one of the oldest parishes in Manitoba, established in 1842 and relocated in 1922.
