Hatch Memorial Shell (Esplanade)

The Hatch Memorial Shell is an outdoor bandshell on the Charles River Esplanade constructed in 1940 and rebuilt or renovated at times since then. It serves as the primary venue for free public concerts on the Esplanade, including the annual Boston Pops Fourth of July concert and fireworks viewing. The shell and surrounding park are focal points for large neighborhood and citywide events along the riverfront.
