Whitescarver Hall

Whitescarver Hall is a historic dormitory located on the Alderson Broaddus University campus in Philippi, West Virginia. Built between 1911 and 1912, this three-story Neoclassical building features striking white brick with limestone accents, a red tile hipped roof, and elegant Ionic pilasters. Originally serving as a boys' dormitory, it was the oldest male residence hall on campus until 1975, when it transitioned to administrative use. Recognized for its historical significance, Whitescarver Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in early 20th-century architecture and educational history.
