Oliver Building (Chicago)

The Oliver Building, located at 159 N. Dearborn Street in Chicago's Loop, is a historic landmark built between 1907 and 1908 for the Oliver Typewriter Company. Designed by the architectural firm Holabird & Roche, it features a distinctive cast iron exterior adorned with typewriter motifs. Notable for its 'Chicago windows,' the building was expanded in 1920 and later underwent renovations in the 1990s to accommodate the Oriental Theatre. Declared a Chicago Landmark in 1984, the Oliver Building is a fascinating example of early 20th-century architecture and industrial heritage.
