Parker House (Salem Street, Reading, Massachusetts)

The Parker House, located at 52 Salem Street in Reading, Massachusetts, is a historic 2+1⁄2-story Federal-style wood-frame house built in 1792. Notable for its elegant center entrance with tall sidelight windows and pilasters, the house features a granite foundation and clapboard siding. Its center chimney may date back to an earlier structure from 1715. Constructed by Jonas Parker, who played a role in the American Revolution, the property also includes a portion of Parker's farm, which was transformed into Memorial Park in 1919. The Parker House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
