Captain George Flavel House Museum

The Captain George Flavel House Museum, located in Astoria, Oregon, is a historic house built in 1885 by George Flavel, a prominent maritime pilot and one of the area's first millionaires. This impressive 11,600-square-foot mansion showcases stunning Queen Anne architecture and spans an entire city block. After Flavel's death, the house remained in the family until 1933. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is now operated by the Clatsop County Historical Society. The museum is also a popular site for fans of the film The Goonies, as it features prominently in the movie, adding a unique cultural significance to its historical value.
