6 King's Square

6 King's Square is a historic building located in the heart of York, England, dating back to 1587. Originally built for Richard Hutton, it is now a Grade II listed structure, recognized for its architectural significance. The building was listed by Historic England in 1983 and was renumbered from 5 to 6 in 1997. Situated on the western side of King's Square, it once faced Holy Trinity Church before the church's demolition in 1937. In the early 20th century, it served as the Porter Vaults, a public house operated by Tetley's Brewery, making it a notable spot for locals and visitors alike.
