Monroe School (Phoenix, Arizona)

The Monroe School, located at 215 North 7th Street in downtown Phoenix, is a historic building designed in the Neoclassical style by architect Norman Foote Marsh. Opened in 1914, it was the largest elementary school west of the Mississippi River and served as an educational institution until 1972. After a period as a Department of Defense recruiting center, the building was transformed into the Children's Museum of Phoenix in 2008. The museum features interactive exhibits that engage both parents and children, including unique installations like the 'Noodle Forest' and a glittery CD wall.
