Shepherd's Plain

Shepherd's Plain, also known as Melrose, is a historic Georgian-style home located near Pungoteague in Accomack County, Virginia. Constructed between 1755 and 1775, this two-story dwelling features distinctive brick ends, a frame front, and a gable roof, measuring 39 by 54 feet. The interior boasts a central passage plan and exquisite paneling in the formal parlor. Originally built for Edward Ker, a notable planter and politician, Shepherd's Plain was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and history.
