Evans Block (Sioux City, Iowa)

The Evans Block, also known as the Northwestern National Bank Building, is a historic four-story Romanesque Revival structure in Sioux City, Iowa. Constructed in the late 1880s by entrepreneur Fred T. Evans, the building originally housed the Northwestern National Bank and features local Black Hills sandstone. Following the economic downturn of the Panic of 1893, it transitioned through various uses, including a hotel and factory. Recognized for its historical significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and contributes to the Fourth Street Historic District.
