Belk Theater at Blumenthal (associated with the Belk family and John M. Belk)

The Belk Theater is a major performing-arts venue within the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Uptown Charlotte and carries the name of the Belk family, long-time retailers and philanthropists in the region. John M. Belk, a member of that family, served as mayor of Charlotte from 1969 to 1977 and was prominent in civic and business life.
