Renaissance Center (Detroit skyline anchor)

Designed by architect John Portman and completed in 1977, the Renaissance Center is a cluster of seven interconnected skyscrapers on Detroit's riverfront that was developed as a major mixed-use complex. The central tower, now the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, rises 727 feet to 73 floors and is the tallest building in Michigan. The complex serves as General Motors' global headquarters and includes offices, hotel rooms, retail, and dining, and has played a central role in riverfront redevelopment efforts.
