Hearthside

Hearthside is a historic house located in Lincoln, Rhode Island, built in 1810 by Stephen Hopkins Smith in Federal style. Notable for its ten fireplaces, the house was constructed with lottery winnings in an attempt to win over a woman from Providence. After serving as a private residence until 1996, it was purchased by the town of Lincoln and is now overseen by the nonprofit 'Friends of Hearthside.' The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, making it a significant site for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and local history.
