Constructed between 1798 and 1800 after the devastating Copenhagen Fire of 1795, it was originally built for merchants Michael Pedersen Kierkegaard and Mads Nielsen Røjen. The building has a rich history, including being home to notable figures such as philosopher Søren Kierkegaard's family.
