The Peabody Memphis and the Peabody Ducks

The Peabody Memphis hotel opened in its current 1925 building and is a longstanding historic downtown hotel. Since 1933 the hotel has maintained the Peabody Ducks tradition, in which trained mallard ducks are escorted daily from the rooftop to the lobby fountain at 11:00 AM and returned at 5:00 PM. The duck march is a documented tourist attraction and a signature historic custom of the hotel.
