Granary Burying Ground - Revolutionary-era burial site

The Granary Burying Ground was established in 1660 and contains the graves of prominent Revolutionary-era figures including John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and Paul Revere. The cemetery also includes the graves of five victims of the 1770 Boston Massacre and numerous early colonial leaders and merchants. Its central location adjacent to Boston Common and historic churches makes it a frequently visited site on the Freedom Trail.
