Usen Castle

Usen Castle, located at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, is a unique historic building designed in a Medieval style reminiscent of a Norman castle. Built in 1928, it features an array of turrets and towers, inspired by Lismore Castle in Ireland, and is constructed from unusual materials like colored concrete and ceramic inlays. The castle served as a dormitory until 2017 and retains Gothic interior elements, offering a distinctive atmosphere for students. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, Usen Castle stands out as a historical landmark amidst the modern architecture of the university campus.
