Viola Cooperative Creamery

The Viola Cooperative Creamery, located in Viola, Minnesota, is a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in 1924 to replace a previous creamery that burned down, it was known for producing specialty butter that reached as far as New York City. After its closure in 1947, the building served various purposes, including cabinet-making and honey production, before falling into disrepair. In 1998, it was purchased by Don Helgerson, who restored it and successfully had it listed as a historic site. The creamery was later transformed into a fine-dining restaurant and eventually converted into a residential home, showcasing its rich history and architectural significance.
