Glass Pool Inn

The Glass Pool Inn, originally opened as the Mirage Motel in 1952 on the Las Vegas Strip, was famous for its unique above-ground swimming pool featuring large porthole windows that allowed passersby to see inside. This distinctive design made it a popular location for films, television shows, and photo shoots. Renamed in 1988 to avoid confusion with a nearby resort, the motel operated until its closure in 2003 and subsequent demolition in 2004 for a planned megaresort project that never materialized. Despite its eventual decline, the motel's pool was a notable landmark in Las Vegas, attracting attention for its eye-catching design and cultural significance.
