Ben's Chili Bowl - U Street Landmark

Ben's Chili Bowl opened in 1958 on U Street and was founded by Ben and Virginia Ali. The restaurant became a neighborhood anchor through the 1968 riots and has hosted entertainers, activists, and politicians, contributing to U Street's cultural history. It remains in continuous operation at its original location.
