Nicholas Schoenenberger House and Barn

The Nicholas Schoenenberger House and Barn, located south of Winterset, Iowa, is a historic site that dates back to 1856 when German immigrants Nicholas and Louisa Schoenenberger acquired the property. This early example of a vernacular limestone farmhouse showcases unique architectural features, including locally quarried stone and a split-level design due to its hillside location.
