Osgood Farm

Osgood Farm is a historic farmhouse located in Andover, Massachusetts, with origins dating back to the marriage of Stephen Osgood and Hannah Blanchard in 1699. The farmhouse has a rich history, including the tragic event in 1783 when American Revolution patriot James Otis, Jr. was killed by lightning while staying there. The property remained in the Osgood family until 1849 and served as an inn and tavern during the 19th century. Notably, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The original structure featured four rooms around a central chimney, with later expansions and modifications reflecting its storied past.
