Boston Marathon (organized by the Boston Athletic Association)

The Boston Marathon, first run in 1897, is the world's oldest annual marathon. It is organized by the Boston Athletic Association, which administers qualifying standards, registration, and race logistics. The race traditionally finishes on Boylston Street near Copley Square and is held each Patriots' Day in April. The BAA's offices coordinate local race operations and community notifications.
