Contentment (Mount Crawford, Virginia)

Contentment, also known as the Grattan House, is a historic Federal style home built in 1823, located near Mount Crawford, Virginia. This two-story brick dwelling features distinctive interior end chimneys and a gable roof. Notably, it served as the headquarters for Confederate General John D. Imboden during the Civil War and was the site of significant skirmishes, including one initiated by General Jubal Early in 1864.
