Egton House

Egton House, located in Langham Street, Westminster, was a significant former BBC building that housed BBC Radio 1 from 1985 to 1996 and briefly BBC Radio 3. It was known for its underground tunnel connecting it to Broadcasting House, which was used to discreetly transport celebrities. The building was demolished in 2003 to make way for the John Peel Wing of BBC Broadcasting House. Notably, it was home to the BBC Gramophone Library, boasting over a million records and CDs, with a unique 78 rpm collection stored in the basement of the nearby luxury hotel, The Langham.
