SMA House

The SMA House, located on Orchard Road in Singapore, is a historic building originally constructed in 1925 as the Malayan Motors Showroom. After serving as a car showroom until 1980, it was repurposed in 1987 for the Singapore Manufacturers' Association, which renovated it to include a library, offices, and a conference room. Officially reopened in 1988, the building faced challenges with exhibitor retention due to high rental costs. In 2000, it was gazetted for conservation and later became home to the Management Development Institute of Singapore in 2002. The SMA House is also featured on the Orchard Heritage Trail, making it a notable stop for tourists and researchers interested in Singapore's architectural and industrial history.
