Palace of the Legion of Honor (neoclassical museum and The Thinker)

The Palace of the Legion of Honor, opened in 1924 and located in Lincoln Park, is a neoclassical art museum whose colonnaded facade and courtyard feature an outdoor cast of Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker that is widely photographed. The museum’s hilltop setting provides framed views of the Golden Gate and Pacific that frequently appear in travel and social-media imagery.
