Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle

Belle Isle Park in Detroit hosted the Detroit Grand Prix on a temporary street circuit on the island, staging top-level open-wheel racing as part of the CART series from 1992–2001 and later the IndyCar Series from 2007–2019. The event used Belle Isle's roads for the racecourse and placed paddocks and spectator facilities on the island for race weekends. The race is a recurring documented element of Detroit motorsports history.
