Penobscot Building (Art Deco skyscraper complex)

The Penobscot Building complex on Griswold Street includes three connected office buildings whose central tower was completed in 1928 and exemplifies Art Deco high-rise design. For much of the 20th century the central Penobscot tower was among Detroit's tallest commercial buildings and it remains a prominent feature of the downtown skyline. The complex historically housed corporate offices, retail spaces, and banking halls serving downtown Detroit.
