Brown Building (Austin, Texas)

The Brown Building is a historic ten-story tower located in Downtown Austin, Texas, standing at 137 feet tall. Completed in 1938, it has served as a hub for significant companies, including the Lyndon Johnson family's holding corporation and the Texas Broadcasting Corporation during World War II, where notable figures like humorist Cactus Pryor and future governor John Connally worked. After a renovation in the early 2000s, it was transformed into high-end lofts and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. The building is named after its developer, Herman Brown, a prominent businessman and philanthropist.
